There is a very big difference living inland Spain to Coastal living. Inland Spanish living is becoming more and more popular. 10 years ago to live inland Spain was living without telephones, internet UK television and you had to learn Spanish to even eat, you couldn't find HGP beans or daddies source not even UK beer. Now that's all changed. UK newspapers, beer food, delights, TV, even its own newspaper in English. Some say the change is for the worst, I personally don't think so.
Most inland Spanish Villas have large plots of land and you never get that urbanisation or council estate feel, you always have a sense of space. The area we sell in the El comtat region comprising, Muro de alcoy, Cocentaina, Agres, Benimarfull, Beniarres, Gaianes, Ontinyent, Bocairent and many small villages in that area has fantastic motorway connections to Alicante and Valencia airport and within easy reach of glorious beaches ...everything under an hour away. Property is a lot cheaper and more value for money inland and maybe its just the tranquility but the locals do tend to seem more friendly, I think its the pace of life away from the bustle of the coast is definite slower. Its not for everyone. For instance my own younger children obviously prefer the hustle and bustle of the coasts towns with plenty of ex pats and everything on the doorstep but my eldest lad who was only 21 did live in Cocentaina for a while with his girlfriend and thoroughly enjoyed it.
